The lack of research has also hindered the progress and development of CBD in different markets and industries.
The Case for Advertising
In the 21st century, brands are spending so much money on advertising. If you were to look at most of the successful brands in the world at the moment, their marketing and advertising expenditure is over the roof. Now if we mirror the same to cannabis, there’s a huge disparity. The FDA is yet to yield and approve the use of CBD as a drug even though the US government holds a patent under the Department of Health and Human Services, addressing cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants.
This raises a lot of questions and creates room for controversy. If the government does believe that cannabinoids are antioxidants and neuroprotectants, how come the same government still refuses to classify CBD as a drug? In light of this confusion, it becomes difficult for the average user to go purchase CBD. It gets even worse when the likes of Facebook don’t allow companies and individuals to promote anything that’s related to hemp, including the use of hemp seeds and protein powders.
Even with all the challenges that CBD faces, one of the biggest concerns that people have is the lack of clarity concerning the right dosage. Each company that sells hemp offers their product in varying doses. Therefore, users have different experiences with whichever product they are using, and this creates a disparity. On the same note, since the FDA is yet to approve the use of CBD as a drug, companies cannot go out on a limb and recommend the right dosage, or what they consider the recommended dose for different treatments.
Given all these concerns, it’s understandable that people would struggle to buy CBD. The confusion has been institutionalized. However, reading the right sources of information can help you learn more and be more informed before you try to buy CBD. In the near future, hopefully things will change for the better.
