How to Clean a Vaporizer

Blog thumbnail in

When you first purchase a vaporizer, it looks so nice and shiny that it’s easy to assume that it’ll just stay like that forever. However, like any product, vapes are susceptible to wear and tear. With regular use, your vape might start getting clogged up and this can lead to performance problems and even health issues over time.

Regular cleaning and proper maintenance can help to significantly extend the lifespan of your vaporizer, while ensuring that it continues to perform as it did when it was new.

Tips and Tricks

The cleaner your vaporizer, the cleaner the vapor that it puts out. Follow the tips below to effortlessly keep your vaporizer clean and in good condition for a long time.

  1. Clean it after each use

Every time you use your vaporizer, make sure to remove any residue that may remain inside the herb chamber. To avoid residue build-up that may clog the vape, use a small brush with hard bristles to get inside the corners and brush off any residue.

Most vaporizers come with their own brush which is very effective at removing weed residue. If you prefer you can use a dedicated pipe cleaner or cotton buds to clean the vaporizer after each session. You can also use the brush to clean the mouthpiece as well, which tends to have quite a bit of residue.

  1. Use 99% isopropyl alcohol

Instead of using water which will damage the internal components of the vaporizer, go for 99% isopropyl alcohol instead. You only need to dab a small amount of the solution onto the vaporizer with the help of a clean soft cloth.

Make sure to get into the important areas like the screens, herb chamber, and mouthpiece. If you have one of those vapes that have removable screens then you’re in luck. You can actually take advantage of the opportunity and soak them in isopropyl alcohol to remove impurities.

It’s important to note here that isopropyl alcohol doesn’t go well with wood so avoid dabbing it onto the wooden parts of your vaporizer. Otherwise, it works great for components that are made from glass and steel and it won’t degrade them over time.

  1. Deep clean in between strains

Before you insert a new strain into your vaporizer, make sure to deep clean it first. This involves taking it apart and cleaning the components individually using a soft cotton ball that has been soaked in isopropyl alcohol.

Once you’re done, put everything together and set the temperature to the highest setting possible for 5 minutes before you start loading the herb chamber. This will help you burn off any remaining isopropyl alcohol so that you only get the pure herb once you start vaping again.

It doesn’t matter how cheap or expensive your vaporizer is. You can maintain it in good condition for a long time if you clean it regularly. For the best results, we advise that you follow the tips provided in this article.

The best part is that all of these steps are pretty simple and they don’t take much time to apply at all.
